Let’s introduce Finca Sagrada and start with Wal Let’s introduce Finca Sagrada and start with Walter Moora:

Walter was born in the jungles of Borneo in 1949 of Dutch parents. As a youth, his family lived in Malaysia and England and finally, when he was 9, in New Zealand. By the end of high school, he knew he wanted to be a farmer and began his life’s path. Walter soon realized that conventional farming fought nature instead of working with her so he left New Zealand in 1972 to learn biodynamic farming, which works intimately with nature. Most of his adult life he lived in the U.S. working on Camphill community farms or his own farms. In 2007, he and his wife Susan moved to the beautiful mountains of Ecuador. Here they are helping to create a community on land that the indigenous Kogi from Columbia designated sacred.

Our Eternal Flame & Indigenous Connection We have Our Eternal Flame & Indigenous Connection

We have lovingly tended together with volunteers and our workers from the Palta tribe the sacred fire in the spirit house for more than five years.
Through involvement in local projects, we have created a strong connection to the local indigenous people, the Palta. And we are always happy to welcome other indigenous tribes.

Here we can hear Nancy, our wonderful friend from the Kichwa culture. We felt absolutely blessed that she sang one of her “taki’s”, their ancestral songs for us in our House of Original Thoughts.

Support us for keeping the fire alive and maintain our vision. Here is our PayPal donation link:

Our House of the original thought How the Kogi e Our House of the original thought

How the Kogi elders came to have us build a House of Original Thought on our farm was truly a miracle. We didn’t even know the land was sacred when we bought it..

Since many years, our Finca Sagrada has a special relationship to the indigenous wisdom of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The Kogi Mamos have visited Finca Sagrada five times. After being invited by the Kogi, Susan and Walter built the first replica of a Kogi “spirit house” in the world. This is a great honor.

In our Finca Sagrada Gathering end of June 2023, the two Wiwa Mamos Gabriel and Javier, related to the Kogi, and also the indigenous Kichwa women leader Nancy from the Amazon have lead us through ceremonies to help deepen our relationship to the earth.

One of the themes we have at Finca Sagrada is to learn how the Eagle and Condor can work as one. The intelectual grandness of the north being infused with the heart forces of the south.

This is part of our Finca Sagrada, as well as biodynamic farming, combined with the wisdom of our workers from the local indigenous Palta tribe.

Be part of our FINCA SAGRADA GATHERING JUNE 20 – Be part of our FINCA SAGRADA GATHERING JUNE 20 – 25, 2023

Humanity has a deep longing to reconnect to the Earth in a sustainable and spiritual way.

This event invites participants to join us in celebrating the holiness of the Earth, help create a new model of stewardship for Finca Sagrada, and create a model for a regenerative sovereign bioregion in the Upper Catamayo River Watershed.

To help us on this journey, we have invited indigenous elders and shamans from Colombia and Ecuador. Two representatives of the ancestral tribe of the Wiwa from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia, brother tribe of the Kogi. As well as the earth keeper and female leader Nancy from the Kichwa culture and José & Carmen from the local Palta culture will share their wisdom and ancestral connection to our nature.

Together we are the Eagle and the Condor – the ancestral and the western world collaborates. We will create a sacred space and the Indigenous will lead us in ceremony to heal ourselves and Mother Earth.

Are you looking for a sacred land you can call home which offers:

-self-sufficiency
-biodynamic farming
-working hand in hand with indigenous people

So it’s the perfect time to meet like minded people!

Indigenous will lead us in ceremonies to heal and reconnect to self and Mother Earth
Experience how people can steward a sacred side
Connection to the ancestral wisdom of the original Wiwa and Kichwa Culture
This gathering will give participants the opportunity to not only reconnect to nature and the Earth but also become active co-creators in new ways of living in harmony and sustainability with our beautiful planet.
